SO, WHAT’S UP with SENATOR PAUL? NOTHING from SANDY? ONLY ONE THING TO SAY: SENATOR GRAHAM must be DEFEATED in the PRIMARY!

Yes, I was thrilled with the wonderful filibuster by Senator Rand Paul last week.  I also was pleased with the news and commentary about it.  Except for my least favorite senator:  Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.  He and Senator McCain were ridiculous in their criticism of the Paul effort.  Here’s a report from CNN’s Political Ticker.  They were awful:

“Somehow to allege that the United States of America – our government – will drop a drone hellfire missile on Jane Fonda, that that brings the conversation from a serious discussion about U.S. policy to the realm of the ridiculous,” the Arizona Republican sniped.

Graham, a close ally of McCain’s in the Senate, wondered why Paul and other Republicans were just now asking questions about the American drone program.

“To my Republican colleagues, I don’t remember any of you coming down here suggesting that President Bush was going to kill anybody with a drone,” Graham said. During his filibuster, which lasted until early Thursday, Paul was joined by a throng of GOP lawmakers, including Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Mike Lee of Utah, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Marco Rubio of Florida, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, John Cornyn of Texas, John Barrasso of Wyoming, John Thune of South Dakota, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

So why is Senator Graham defending the President here?  Because he’s a leader of the War Party and the War Party crosses party lines.  Paul is right:  power seldom is contained to the true bad guys and gals.  It could be used here in the USA and Senator Graham has called (in NDAA) for the battlefield to be in the homeland!

Here’s a commentary from Laura Ingraham:

If anyone is on the fringe here, it’s McCain and Graham. Both men made a big mistake with their drive-by hits on Rand Paul. It is all but certain that Sen. Graham will face a serious primary challenger in 2014, and I bet his first campaign commercial will go something like this: ‘I stood with Rand while Sen. Graham dined with Obama.’

I hope Laura is right:  We need to find a new Republican to run against Lindsey Graham in 2014 and win.  I’d vote for a Democrat over Senator Graham if I lived in SC right now.  My children are almost old enough to fight in the feel-good wars Graham and McCain cook up every week or so.  Graham’s criminal procedure policy is right out of the NCIS playbook:  Indefinite detention, no lawyer for alleged terrorists, drone strikes on US citizens with no accountability, continued use of Gitmo and military tribunals instead of trials.  Let’s trust our legal system.  Graham also has called for something like the Mark of the Beast – let the LEGAL workers have a ID card (not the immigrant workers, the legal ones) tied to a body feature!  No follower of Christ ought to vote for Senator Graham.

Please primary him.  Right away.  I’ll help from here in Virginia; it won’t be the first time Virginians came to the aid of the people of South Carolina!
